Self-dual connection

Definition

Let $M$ be a differential manifold and $E$ a vector bundle over $M$. A connection $\mathrm{\nabla }$ on $E$ is termed a self-dual connection or instanton if its Riemann curvature tensor is an eigenvector of the Hodge operator with eigenvalue 1.
